The Family Support Center’s mission is to protect children, strengthen families, and create a caring community. The Center offers a crisis nursery for babies and children up to the age of 11. The agency’s primary goal is to prevent child abuse and neglect. If a parent is under stress or has an emergency, the Family Support Center offers a 24/7 crisis hotline. They will take children in for up to 72 hours, offering parents personal time. The agency also provides support for parents and guardians while they look for work, attend meetings and appointments, take parenting classes, find long-term day care, etc. The Family Support Center can assist parents in finding reliable, state-licensed day care for their children. A variety of volunteer positions are available. Prospective volunteers meet with the Family Support Center Director and complete volunteer paperwork. Background checks may be required. Call 435-259-1658 and ask for Sherilyn Sowell.
